You can never underestimate the power of paying your dues.
Wow. So true. This has always been an internal battle for me, wanting something big right now, in the present. Patience is certainly a virtue, but that doesn’t mean its not ridiculously difficult. Thanks for sharing, and the solid reminder.
Cheers!
This is great, Christopher. Really, really great.
Thank you.
So appropriate piece of advice! I’m close to graduate and have been thinking a lot about this in the last semester. Really good to hear this right now =)
Superb advice, Christopher. Amazingly this is something that I taught my children and do still teach my students. I’d only add one thing to this: we as teachers, mentors and parents have to help those who depend on us understand this as a good thing – as a great creative process that is going to get them where they want to go and not as a grimly borne punishment – or worse, failure. When you pay your dues they go into your account too. I really loved hearing this. Thanks.
Very inspirational story. What I really like is that not only did this man pay his dues, he was very strategic in his actions. He knew that business is relationships. He got his foot in the door of where he wanted to be and then once there, worked even harder to make sure he succeeded. Great Advice and amazing work Christopher.
