So true, personal work shows a willingness to learn, and to invest your own time in something that purely for the heck of it. You also define the scope, and that’s a big challenge.
I think he is totally correct. If you cannot show yourself what you are made of, how can you show anyone else. If other people want to know you, some say to look to Facebook, or to twitter. I do not think that is a good place to look for truth for anyone. For an artist to show who he/she is, art must be created. That is the true identity of the artist.
